Data ownership & exit

Your data is yours, and you can prove it by leaving

The real test of who owns club data is not a clause in a privacy policy. It is whether you can get all of it out, in a format another system can read, on the day you decide to. On Links Meridian you can, at any time, without a penalty and without asking permission. Here is precisely what exports, how, and what the exit process looks like.

Data lock-in is the quiet way golf vendors keep clubs. The software may frustrate the team for years, but the thought of extracting a decade of member history, financial records, and booking patterns from a closed system is enough to make a board renew anyway. That leverage only exists because the data is hard to get out. Remove the friction and the club is free to choose the best product on the merits.

So we built export as a first-class capability, not a grudging concession. Member and CRM records, the full financial ledger, booking and tee-time history, F&B and POS transactions, and member-facing content can all be exported by an administrator in standard, portable formats. The same data is available continuously through a public REST API, so a club is never dependent on us to read its own records.

Ownership also means restraint. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes, and we do not train AI models on it. The data exists to run your club and to leave with your club. That is the whole arrangement.

Why it matters

The outcome for your club

Members & CRM in CSV and Excel

Full member records, contact details, membership types, family links, and communication history export to CSV and Excel that any system or spreadsheet can read.

Financials to QuickBooks and Xero

The general ledger, journals, invoices, and daily reconciliation export to QuickBooks and Xero, plus CSV, Excel, PDF, and IIF. Your accountant keeps working as normal.

Bookings as iCalendar

Tee-time and booking history export as standard iCalendar feeds that read straight into Apple, Google, and Outlook calendars, and into other booking systems.

Everything through a public API

A documented REST API exposes every record with OAuth 2.0 and API keys, so you can pull your data on your own schedule without waiting on us.

GDPR data portability built in

Per-member data export and erasure tooling is built in for UK and EU GDPR compliance, so subject-access and portability requests are handled, not improvised.

No sale, no sharing, no AI training

We do not sell your data, share it for third-party purposes, or use it to train AI models. It runs your club and it leaves with your club.

Common questions

Who owns the data in our Links Meridian account?

Your club does. Member records, bookings, financial data, and content created in the platform belong to the club, not to Links Meridian. We act as a processor of that data to run the service, and you can export all of it at any time in standard formats.

What formats can we export our data in?

Member and CRM data export to CSV and Excel. The financial ledger exports to QuickBooks, Xero, CSV, Excel, PDF, and IIF. Bookings export as iCalendar. Everything is also available through a documented public REST API with OAuth 2.0 and API keys, and webhooks can stream changes to your own systems in real time.

Is there a fee or penalty for exporting our data?

No. Export is a standard administrator capability available at any time, not just on exit, and there is no charge or penalty for using it. Getting your data out is treated as a feature, not a concession.

Do you sell our data or use it to train AI?

No to both. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes, and we do not use your club's data to train AI models. The AI features in the platform operate on your data to serve your club only.

What does the exit process actually look like?

You give notice per the contract, export your data in the formats above (or pull it via the API), and confirm the handover. Because export is always available, there is no scramble to extract records at the end. We can also assist with a final structured export as part of offboarding.
